OUR JOURNEY TO MATH WORLD WITH OUR FRIENDS"LITTLE MATHEMATICIANS AT WORK" 2ND KINDERGARDEN OF N.MAGNISIA,THESSALONIKI,GREECE,AGLAIA MANTESOU

Our eTwinning project titled «Little Mathematicians at Work» started in November 2025 and concludes in May 2026. Participating countries include Greece, Turkey and Romania. Its aim was to activate knowledge and skills related to mathematics through real, everyday situations. Below is a brief overview of the project's progress to date. LETS SEE WHAT WE DID IN BRIEF!!! IT WAS A PLEASURE PARTNERS!!! November: During the first month, a set of organizational and pedagogical activities were implemented. Specifically: introductory meetings were held between teachers, responsibilities were assigned and the initial planning of activities was completed, accompanied by observations and feedback. The necessary parental consent documents for children's participation in the programme were created. Children and teachers completed the initial questionnaires regarding previous participation in an eTwinning programme as well as their relationship with mathematics – the central theme of the project. School presentations were prepared. The online student meeting was organized and held on 2/12 (after postponement of the scheduled meeting on 25/11). Logo proposals for the project were created (one from each teacher) and put to a vote by parents. PRESENTATION OF OUR KINDERGARTEN TO OUR PARTNERS 2nd Kindergarden of N. Magnisia, Thessaloniki, Greece Hallo !!! Our Kindergarden is situated in a small village town at West Thessaloniki, called N. Magnisia. There are three classrooms and five teachers. Our Kindergarden promotes inclusion and acceptance, welcoming students with special educational needs. We are, therefore, very happy to have a special education class with a special education teacher. We are very happy for participating at this project! (WE USED THE SAFETY / PARENTAL CONSENT FOR THE PROGRAMME THAT OUR PARTNERS PREPARED). December: We prepared cards with numbers 1 to 9. We actually made them using cardboard and oil pastels. We played the digital game sent to us by the project partners. We created the back cover for the collaborative calendar (a joint activity of all schools). (WE PREPARED CALENDAR BACK COVER OF PARTNERS) January: We created geometric shapes using various materials. We played board games with dice and geometric shapes prepared by our friends and partners from a Primary School in Greece. You can see the games the children played: 1st board game with dice in a row 2nd board game with mixed dice 3rd board game with shapes 4th board game with shapes February: We measured objects using various materials. We also measured our height using simple units — that is, identical materials — such as blocks and a measuring tape. We played the digital game we created and shared with our partners. The link to the game we created for our partners! https://view.genially.com/697ae92ffc8f6425d1b07959 March: The month was dedicated to patterns. We created patterns using various materials and then tried to create an artistic piece on a worksheet: a chain with patterns! April: COOKING AND MATHEMATICS: ( OUR FRUIT SALAD HELPS US IN MATHS!!) We made a fruit salad because we need to know the quantities we must use so that the recipe turns out right! (We need to know mathematics when cooking in the kitchen because we need to know the quantities and ratios of foods to adjust the proportions between them.) May: 9th May: Etwinning day in our school! We create posters for the World E-twinning Day on 9 May. SAMPLE FROM THE PAGE WE CREATED IN THE FINAL COLLABORATIVE BOOK IN THE STORYJUMPER APP WITH NUMBER GAMES: (WE CREATED OUR OWN GAME IN THE SCHOOLYARD WITH NUMBERS, WE FILMED IT, CREATED A TITLE AND RULES AND ADDED IT TO OUR FINAL COLLABORATIVE BOOK!) Aglaia Mantesou / 2nd Kindergarden of N. Magnisia, Thessaloniki, GREECE Game Title: The Number-Sorting Adventure Track MATERIALS NEEDED Number cards Colored Chalk or Tape (for the straight, wavy, and zigzag tracks) 1 Large Bin (for all the shapes) Colorful Geometric Blocks / Shapes Collection Boxes (labeled with numbers/shapes) RULES Choose Your Path: Players line up at the starting point. Each player must choose one of the three colored lines to follow (Straight, Wavy, or Zigzag). Balance First: Players must walk carefully along their chosen line, keeping their balance. Both feet should stay on the line until they reach the end. No running! The Shape Search: When a player successfully completes the track, they reach the central shape bin. They must put the right number of shapes, as the number card shows, to the bin. (Next to the central bin, there are specific collection boxes labeled with target numbers (e.g., "5" and "6")) Αfter having become worthy mathematicians, we proudly received our awards!!
